I called the shop and described the problems I was having, and he requested that I return it to another shop. After going approximately 5-10 miles the overheat light came on, and within a few miles the oil light came on.
Figuring that it was new coolant and needed a chance to warm up, I paid little attention to it. I left the store after that, and the heater was blowing cold air. The technician stated that my coolant was not good for a low temperature (according to him only good to +10F) and suggested a coolant flush, I bought it. I decided that since it was a used car (had driven it with no problems approximately 500 miles before I got to the Jiffy Lube), I would get the oil changed. On my way home I happened through Spokane, Washington, and saw a Jiffy Lube open on a Sunday. I purchased a used vehicle in Idaho and was driving it home.
At this time I don’t know what else is going to be involved. This fell into the mechanical areas of the vehicle while driving–causing damage. The mechanic left a foot-long commercial screwdriver inside the engine compartment. Runs very poorly compared to how I brought it in to have it serviced. I came in to have my car serviced, now it idles roughly, and check engine light is now on. I stayed at Jiffy Lube until closing they never helped me and said, “It’s not our problem there is nothing we can do for you today.” I drove out, with nobody to help me, and had a huge mess that never was fixed. I went to Napa, got the same part, and they said there was no spring needed for this part. I had no problems before I went in for the oil change. They said that it was missing before, and that the “check engine” light came on because of a missing spring. So I drove it right back, and they told me I needed a spring to go with that PCV valve they sold me. I paid my bill and drove on my way.Ībout a block away my “check engine” light came on, and my car started idling really rough. It needed to be replaced, so I had them replace it. They presented my with a pcv valve, and showed me my current one in my car. During their services they present you with maintenance offers, air filters, transmission flush, etc. I came into Jiffy Lube on Friday, February 8, 2008, around 3 pm. The bottom line is that it's a whole lot of give on your own part and even more take on the companies part and it's not worth the money. But if you're thinking of being a manager, just don't do it. Just work downstairs on vehicles all day. Basic insight on this job is that if you need a job just for a job this is an okay workplace. I often don't get home until 8:30-9pm due to everything I need to do still after a day. Opening at 7am is okay all things considered but closing at 7pm is ridiculous. There is a lot of it (probably 40-60 hours total) and you don't get that large of raises. They promote a "promotion schedule" of you get raises based on what parts of your computer training you get done. But overall, this company has store managers that are rushed into their position and don't know what they're doing and aren't reprimanded and then you have district managers who don't care about you one bit and come up with "reasons" why you aren't ready for something or can't do something. Some managers can be very good and I've had a few that have made my life working there 100 times better. Everyday was fun and in all reality, this is a really laid back job in terms of at store environment. I can honestly say that when I first began working for this company, I was happy.
